It is not, however, in every condition of rheumatism, that benefit is to be expected from lactucarium. That disease, as well as phthisis, has been divided into a variety of different species. Sauvages, in his elaborate System, has pointed out fifteen dif ferent species, all of them, in his opinion, de serving attention, from the difference in prac-f tice requisite for combating each particulaii species.
