To live well or nobly is a) Ziiv. And thus he comes to assert that we men seek aiiv not only for practical help, though of course it is a mutual benefit in proportion as each one gets a share of the £5 Zi'w, but from a deep and essential instinct in us which makes an isolated man a contradiction in terms.
