On This Day in Barangu: A Genealogical Calendar of Life Events presents the genealogy of a Garifuna (indigenous/Afro-descendant) community in southern Belize, Barranco (Barangu in the Garifuna language) in the form of a calendar. Each day has the genealogical events---births, marriages, death---that occurred on that day, as well as additional information about the Baranguna (people associated with Barranco) involved, such as, nicknames, their parents, spouses, children, past roles in the village, and how the person is related to someone living in the village now. The time-frame covers from the establishment of the village to the present. The calendar is illustrated with photographs and charts explaining multiple relationships between Baranguna. Three-generation charts from the beginning of each major last name allow Baranguna to find their ancestors. A complete index is included.
