The rest have been selected from his occasional sermons preached elsewhere than in the Cathedral during his tenure of the Deanery. Mr. Murray has given leave for the reprinting of the sermon on "The Pensees of Blaise Pascal, " originally published in a volume entitled Companions for the Devout Life, and of the lecture on Bishop Andrewes, originally published in a volume entitled Masters in English Theology. By a like permission from Messrs. Parker, the sermon entitled "Adam, the Type of Christ" is reprinted from a volume of Lent Sermons. The sermon on "Foreign Travel" first appeared in a volume entitled The Use and Abuse of the World, and is here reprinted by the permission of the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge.
