Excerpt from Pedes Finium, or Fines, Relating to the County of Cambridge, Levied in the King's Court From the Seventh Year of Richard I, to the End of the Reign of Richard IIIWhen I volunteered to pass through the press for the Cambridge Antiquarian Society a short Calendar of the Feet of Fines for their County, on the same lines as that I had printed for Norfolk, I thought I had a very easy task. The idea was suggested to me by seeing on the shelves of the Record Office a ms. Which purported to be a complete official calendar of the Fines for Cambridge, from Richard I. To Richard III.Not unnaturally I thought that a transcript of this could be made at a comparatively small expense, and that when it was put into type it could be read by me with the original docu ments and seen through the press at little trouble to myself or expense to the Society.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
