The stronger broiler prices in recent months and high red meat prices likely will keep chick placements near or above year-earlier levels in coming months.Broiler prices have been relatively strong this year considering the sharp increase in broiler meat output. For the year, the 9-city average wholesale price will average about a penny above the cents a pound for 1971.Broiler prices likely will decline further in late fall before beginning the usual winter rise. They are expected to run moderately above year-earlier levels in the winter and spring if increases in broiler output are moderate.
