A year ago, one of the teams ace pitchers suffered a broken jaw that may have been caused by the trampoline effect of the ball off an aluminum bat. Now, while they practice before the next season, the team discovers that it will play in a wooden bat tournament instead of one that allows aluminum bats. Ambitious power hitter Sammy Perez, who relies on the pop and big sweet spot of an aluminum bat, is terrified by the switch and is tempted by PEDs in an effort to keep his stats up.
