Prehistoric Metal Artefacts from Italy (3500-720 BC) in the British Museum
Angebote / Angebote:
This important publication brings together substantial holdings in two Departments at the British Museum: Greek and Roman, and Prehistory and Early Europe. Some 850 objects will be arranged chronologically from the Copper Age, through the Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age, and within these headings the objects will be arranged typologically, e.g. axes, swords, fibulae. A major result of this study and the scientific research carried out at the BM has been the reassembly of several groups of bronzes probably originally from hoards and graves. Each entry will include a description, comparanda and bibliography. The encyclopaedic nature of the collections means that this catalogue will stand as a vital handbook of the material. The authors are leading international scholars in Italian bronzes of these periods.
