This study was mandated by Chapter 19 of the 1987 Session Laws, the full text of which. Is set forth in Appendix A. Specific issues that the General Assembly directed the Administrative Office of the Courts to address include the current use of presentence reports, when they should be prepared, who should prepare them, what they should contain, and whether they shouhd be mandatory for any, or all, cases.
