It is a life, grafted into another life. It is the life of the soul, incorporated into the life of Christ, and in such a way, that, while it has a dis tinct vitality, it has so very much in the sense, in which the branch of a tree may be said to have a distinct vitality from the root. It buds, blossoms, and bears fruit in the strong basis of an eternal stock. I am the vine, says the Savior, ye are the branches. He, that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for with out me ye can do nothing. This is a great mystery, but it is also a great truth.
