C., April 26-28, 1905 The Eighth Annual Conference for Education in the South met in the Columbia Theatre of Columbia, S. C., on Wednesday, April 26, at 8 o'clock p. m. The Conference was called to order by Mr. E. S. Dreher, Superintendent of the Columbia City Schools and Chairman of the Reception Committee appointed by the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Dreher presented the Hon. D. C. Heyward, Governor of South Carolina, who delivered an address of welcome as follows: Governor D. C. Heyward.
