Excerpt from Proceedings of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York, One Hundred and Thirtieth Annual Communication: May, 1911Each Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge may be thus characterized. We hail our friends from every corner of the State. We enjoy their fellowship in the discharge of the duties that bring us together. We say good-bye in the hope of meeting again, but, alas! To many it is the final salutation on earth. How cold and empty does language seem compared with the thoughts which can never be uttered - never escape beyond the sacred portals of the soul - as we recall the forms of those to whom one year ago we bade good-bye. May their last sleep be sound and sweet beneath the blue and bending skies! May the song bird find a new note of sorrow in his throat, for'the passing of these, our Brethren, and a new burst of joy that they have gone to a happier and better land!About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
