Program for openness and accountability in Narega
Angebote / Angebote:
The Government of India (GOI) instituted the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) in 2005 to address rural poverty and
unemployment in India. This study will discuss transparency, accountability and the
impact of NREGA in selected districts of Rajasthan. The system of grievance redressal
was selected as the proxy for measuring the impact of the transparency initiative on
accountability. The broad aim of the research study is to evaluate the efficiency and
effectiveness of the Scheme as compared to its objective, critically assessing the
policies, procedures and practices to make conclusions, assessing the performance of
various monitoring and implementing institutions under the Act, and documenting the
best practices and performances for replications.
