Smith Reynolds Foundation which made possible the continuation Of the series with the publication of the last three volumes. Through the generosity Of the Wachovia Historical Society of Winston Salem the department recently has been able to reprint the first four volumes which have long been out Of print. Tentative plans have been made to reprint Volumes V, VI, and VII, also out Of print, if these plans materialize, the complete series will be available.Records covering the years 1752 through 1879 provide insight into the life of the Moravian community, the completeness of the records kept by the Moravians is perhaps unique in that the scribes consistently recorded minute details relating to everyday life and, at the same time, included comments on facts significant in North Carolina history.Miss Brenda M. Smith, editorial assistant on the staff Of the Division Of Publications Of the State Department Of Archives and History, saw the book through the press and prepared the index.
