La seule allusion qui permette d'assigner à la sottie une date approximative est une allusion aux traductions en langue vulgaire défendues par la Sorbonne (v. 57 Nous pensons que la pièce a dû être Jouée vers 1530. Les mitaines dont il esr parlé aux v. 123-124 nous font croire que la représentation a eu lieu en hiver, peut-être aux jours gras.
