By means of this method it is possible for factory managers to ascertain the percentage of cherries that contain maggots in each delivery and to refuse those offerings which are unfit to pack. As a result, the cherries packed during the last sea son were far more free from these pests than the packs of previous years.A process was developed and a ma chine devised for removing maggots from blueberries, a very serious pest in Maine.
