Excerpt from Report on Public Baths and Public Comfort Stations: Being a Supplementary Report to the Inquiries Into the Tenement, House Question in the City of New York, Pursuant, to Chapter 470 of the Laws of 1894The Mayor's Committee, whose final report is herewith pre sented, was appointed by his Honor, the Mayor Of New York City, William L. Strong, in July, 1895, as an Advisory Committee, to continue the study of the subject Of Public Baths and Public Comfort Stations, upon which it had already reported to the Committee Of Seventy as its sub-committee on this special subject. This pre liminary report had been accepted and approved by that Committee, and was published by'it in pamphlet form.
