This study successfully demonstrates that the hole drilling method can be adapted to polymer materials. Two thermoplastic materials, an amorphous material (polycarbonate) and a semi-crystalline material (polypropylene), a self-reinforced polypropylene composite (PURE), and a hybrid aluminium/PURE compound were investigated.
