The oeuvre of Belgian artist Robert Devriendt is inextricably linked with film. His paintings are small in scale, and can be seen as a series of stills when displayed together. Often enigmatic and without any definite script, the works are experienced as unresolved or fragmented narratives, wherein the observer is automatically transformed into co-director, and must therefore create his or her own story.
