Royal Book Lodge

Angebote / Angebote:

After more than 30 years of activity by the Royal Book Lodge (RBL), renowned art historian John C. Welchman provides the first study of this international artists network. He examines the history and artistic practices of the group, which produced a variety of intermedial experiments, including photography, ceramics, writing, and publications, in addition to artists books. Against the backdrop of the diverse cultural and political geographies of those involved, narratives of migration and travels - some artistically inspired - around the world unfold in the volume. Welchman takes up central themes of RBL, such as biographical construction, fiction, and control, examining its situationist traditions as well as its exploration of socially pressing issues, such as the study of experiences of violence. ROYAL BOOK LODGE emerged in the mid-1980s from a collaboration between Juli Susin and Veronique Bourgoin, and today consists of a loose network of international artists, including. Raisa Aid, Kai Althoff, Abel Auer, Linda Bilda, André Butzer, matali crasset, Les Schlag (Grems, Tex, Virassamy), Gudny Guðmundsdóttir, Beate Günther, Tobias Hauser, Andy Hope 1930, Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir, Dorota Jurczak, Bruce Kalberg, Armin Krämer, Alexandre Kalinkine, Lutz Krüger, Charlet Kugel, Jean-Louis Leibovitch, Anne Lefebvre, Jochen Lempert, Jonathan Meese, Birgit Mergele, Anna Parkina, Raymond Pettibon, Jason Rhoades, Lucia Sotnikova, Julia Rublow, Ralph Rumney, Gianfranco Sanguinetti.
