SERPENT POINT: A Contemporary Vigilante Novel
Does the boundless greed of some pharmaceutical CEO's bother you? Have you, or a family member been hurt by it? Maybe hooked on opioids? Maybe you've wondered if seeking retribution is morally right? Or possible?
In Serpent Point, the opioid crisis has reached a fevered pitch. Tens of thousands are dying monthly. No one is safe. Not even Scot Allen's beloved wife, Claret. Scot receives a call while trekking in Bhutan-Claret has died. He returns home in a daze. Once home, he discovers she'd been concealing a growing opioid addiction began while recovering from a minor car accident.
Scot, furious with the pharmaceutical industry, sets up a website making a solemn promise:
"Anyone who harms my family while irresponsibly seeking wealth, be aware. I pledge retribution. Whatever, be assured, you will pay."
Scot's solemn promise goes viral. Average Americans suffering the loss of loved ones to opioid addiction begin to look to Scot as their leader. Someone murders a rich pharmaceutical exec. More obscenely rich execs die. Lots more. Scot won't take his solemn promise website down. Powerful people get angry, then scared. Scot doesn't care.
In today's world, is there a good way this can end for Scot? For the rest of America?
Serpent Point, where the story ends, is a real-world, dangerous cliff in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado. Serpent Point is named for its serpent like features on the 3, 000 foot cliff. It should have been named for the pharmaceutical CEO who tried to hide there.
If you like vigilante novels or, if you've lost a loved one to the opioid crisis, this is the novel for you.
Scot had his call to action. Here's your call: Is Scot's Solemn Promise website justified? Enter Scot's world to find out.
