It will be a passage adown the Rivers of Life or progress, which ought to show ethnographically, as well as sectionally, the part which each race and nation has borne in the struggle upwards to light and learning, as well as those obstructing influences which have retarded the march of truth by superstitions, self-interests, heredity, or other circumstances peculiar to race, time and climate.
