Sorghum Stover: Feeding Frequency, Energy, Urea addition in calves
Angebote / Angebote:
The nutritive value of urea or ground nut cake supplementation to sorghum stover and the effect of feeding frequency on growing Deoni calves was studied. The feeding frequency of 2 or 6 times per day has no advantage in improving the efficiency of feed utilization and the supplementation of ground nut cake was beneficial as energy source in increasing the average daily gain of calves. Other study on the effect of supplementing cellulolytic enzyme and sorghum grain to urea treated sorghum stover basal diet on calves revealed that sorghum grain supplementation with enzyme decreased the digestibility of nutrients and enzyme supplementation was beneficial to Deoni calves fed urea treated sorghum stover alone.
