These potentials have different levels of development as far as the growing organism is concerned. In the individuals progress towards self-actualisation, there is a gradual unfolding of genetic predispositions that interacts with the factors in the outside world, helping the individual attain maturity along different dimensions. These levels of maturity plays a vital role in affecting the quality of their future life. The quality of life of an individual is decided to a large extent by the personal achievement that he/she attains. Academic achievement forms an integral part of their later social and occupational achievements. Although the foundations for academic achievement are laid in childhood itself, the tree of academic progress has its directed and rapid development during the Adolescent years.
