Excerpt from Supplement to United States Coast Pilot: Atlantic Coast, Section B, Cape Cod to Sandy Hook, April 21, 1943Wartime regulations affecting the anchorage and movement of vessels, and the loading and discharging of explosives or in¿ammable material, or other dangerous cargo in the ports of the United States and territorial possessions are in effect. Information concerning these new regulations should be obtained from the Captain of the Port involved. The Captain of the Port is an Officer functioning directly under the Commandant of the Naval District.Mine fields, obstructions, defensive sea areas, and, in some places maritime control areas have been established in the approaches to certain ports and in various localities along the coasts of the United States and its possessions.
