In Temptation, Beth and Brian Jackson face many of the problems of married life in the twenty-first century. Both are ambitious, professional people, totally focussed on making a success of their careers. An unplanned pregnancy forces each of them to review these ambitions. Beth begins to recognize the importance of family relationships. Brian realizes that his wife and children are all-important to him, but under pressure of a demanding job and new boss he finds it difficult to make more room in his life for them. It is at this point that temptation appears for Beth in the form of Julian Dent. A strong physical and mental attraction develops and she reaches a stage where she knows she is close to risking her marriage for him. Brian also meets temptation. Megan Philips, the wife of one of Beth's colleagues, is attracted to him and offers the sort of casual, light-hearted, no strings attached sex that many men find hard to resist. Will their marriage survive? The outcome is not entirely predictable.
