This antiquarian volume contains Virgil's "The Aeneid", translated from the original Latin into English by William Morris. It is an epic Latin poem written between 29 and 19 BCE, that tells the story of Aeneas, a Trojan who became the ancestor of the Romans, after travelling to Italy. The poem is composed of 9, 896 lines written in dactylic hexameter, and delineates Aeneas's wanderings from Troy to Italy, and the Trojans' war against the Latins. This classic text would make for a worthy addition to any bookshelf, and is not to be missed by collectors of important antiquarian literature.
