Excerpt from The American Elevator and Grain Trade, Vol. 44: A Monthly Journal Devoted to the Elevator and Grain Interests, August 15, 1925As proposed, the clearing house corporation would pay for itself and build a reserve fund to take care of failures of members. Revenue would be provided for by an arbitrary charge of a few cents per bushel lot of grain cleared. It has been estimated that a charge of 10 cents per 10, 000 bushels of grain cleared would bring in about in a year, a sum fully sufficient to pay run ning expenses and a margin for reserve.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
