Like the rest of his cruise mates, Sam was assigned to each station on the ship. Most of the time he was stationed with the gun crew, Sam played position number 7, or plug man. Sam can place a basketball with perfect accuracy, but they found out that he wasn't so good as a gun-loader. He could push the charge in all right, but his hand was so big that he couldn't get it out afterward. At his favorite position, he opened the breech, so that the hot shell could drop out of the gun. Sam was captain of his eight-man gun crew: the pointer the sight-set ter, the trainer, first loader, second loader, plug-man, and the hot-shell man.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
