The Book of Daniel
Angebote / Angebote:
This volume covers the Book of Daniel, the last of the five books known as the Major Prophets (the others being Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations and Ezekiel). The twelve chapters of the book can be conveniently divided into two distinct halves. The first half - the first six chapters - are narrative. They document the story of Daniel's decades of loyal service to the kings of Babylon and Medo-Persia as a high government official. This portion of the book includes the familiar stories of King Nebuchadnezzar's vision of the giant image, the three Hebrews in the fiery furnace, King Belshazzar and the writing on the wall, and Daniel in the lion's den. The second half of the book - the last six chapters - are prophetic. They record a series of dreams and visions that were given to Daniel that outline the course of world history, and the history of the nation of Israel, from the time when Medo-Persian King Cyrus signed an order to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem until the time when the AntiChrist will be destroyed during the Great Tribulation at the end of the Church Age. Though there are four separate dreams and visions presented, they present a fully consistent vision of history.
