Excerpt from The Canadian Field-Naturalist, 1953, Vol. 67Mr. Charles Larned Robinson of Interval-e Farm, Intervale, New Hampshire, has con ducted a search for sight records and track reports in the vicinity of his state, and has accumulated considerable information. He is one of the few investigators who have been fortunate enough to see the animal himself.A report from Williamsburg, Mass., in 1949 stated that a cub had been seen and an adult heard calling in that vicinity, and Man ville (1951) cautiously reports a sight record by several members of the Trailside Museum staff at Bear Mountain, New York, in the autumn of 1935. Moving west almost to_ the edge of the plains, a report of Swift (1948) says that sight records since 1940 leave little doubt that at least a few still are present in the quetico-superior country.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
