Recent occasion, the Archbishop of York gave notice of a motion for the appointment of a Select Committee of the Lords' House to consider the connection existing between the Colo nial Churches and the Church at home. This motion was to have been made on Thursday, the 2ist of June, had not the House adjourned by reason of the ministerial changes then occurring, and no doubt it will be made at an early period.On the occasion alluded to the Bishop of London, at pre senting a petition from Miss Burdett Coutts, read two Opinions upon the recent judgments in the cases of Long 0. The Bishop of Cape Town, and of Bishop Colenso against the same Bishop, the one opinion being that of Mr. W. M. James, and the other that of the attorney-general, Sir R.
