The second movement, the lively "Ivory Keys Rag, " revisits the days when piano keys were made of ivory transported up the river. The river itself is celebrated in the lyrical third movement, "River Rhapsody." The final movement, "Memories of the Hockanum, " recalls the days when more than 1000 mills dotted the banks of the river.
