The secret was out. The J.W Badger Magical Circus was coming to the Silent Hollow!
A handful of hollow elders hurried to gather. There they discussed in heated debate and raised fists at the arrival of the circus. With much uneasiness, they imagined the shame or danger of their greatest secret revealed in the homecoming of the notorious badger who was once their Promise of Magic. In terror they pondered the rumors of coyotes or, even worse, what had become of their stolen badger of promise after being touched for so many years by the mysterious and frightening humans. They spoke with many words of foreboding. The oldest elders wallowed in despair over the possibility of monstrous humans returning to the Silent Hollow. Yet, even filled with such dread and impending doom, not a single elder dared to travel forth and bravely stop the coming of the circus. In the end, all succumbed to their fear of the powerful circus owner and his legend.
