The Dhammapada in Gender-Neutral Language
Angebote / Angebote:
This version of the Dhammapada has the same text as the English translation of the Dhammapada translated by Friedrich Max Müller and published in The Sacred Books of the East (which is in the public domain in the United States) except that this version has been changed by Lisa Merrill to have American rather than British spelling (harbor rather than harbour, for example) and have the chapter titles in bold, and to have gender-neutral language, for example, this version uses the word humankind rather than the word mankind, adds "Bhikshuni(s)" where "Bhikshu(s)" are mentioned, and uses "they" instead of "he" or "she" (except when speaking of specific beings with a certain gender, like Mara) and changes the verbs accordingly.
