Afar, in the most distantpart of the field, a man was busily engag cd in digging a grave. There was something within that impelled me to stroll forth and accost him. I passed 011 to where the grave digger 11 as pursuing his occupa tion. He answered my morning sahrtation civilly efiough, but con tinned intent upon his work. He was a man about fifty years of age, spare, but strong.
