A large shrub, with drooping slender leafy branches. Leaves 2 by in., ovate-cordate, 3-lobed, lobes shallow, acute, sharply irregularly toothed or serrate. Panicles 3-8 in. Flowers shortly pedicelled. Calyx-tube 1/3 in., base roundel, lobes shorter than the tube, lanceolate, acute, in fruit often clothed with long rigid gland-tipped bristles. Petals small, white, oblong or obcordate. Fruit inclosed in the calyx, of 1 carpel. 2.
