The people who inhabited/ruled Mesopotamia were the Sumerians, Akkadians (Assyrians and Babylonians), ARAMEANS, Persians, Macedonians, Parthians, Sassanids, Arabs, Ottomans.That region was historically also known as Aram-NAHARAIM (Aram of two rivers (Euphrat and Tigris)).
