Excerpt from The Fourteenth Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records in Ireland: 14th March, 1882The correspondence commences on 24th June, 1651, and ends on 8th November, 1659. This series seems to be complete for the period it covers, which in fact was the whole period of the Commonwealth rule, for it was only in May, 1652, that Galway surrendered, so that the cor respondence begins before the kingdom was entirely under the control of the Commonwealth. And a settled Government established. Then follow Civil Lists, with the names and salaries of the various Officers of Government. There are only four of these books. They concern the years 1654, 1655, 1656, 1657, and 1658. This series, therefore, is imperfect.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
