Excerpt from The Genus AmblyommaThe immature stages of very few species Of Amblyomma are known, and I have not been able, with such scanty material, to make satisfactory specific descriptions of the larval and nymphal forms. The selection of specific characteristics is difficult, and, until examples of many different species are available for comparison, the descriptions are of doubtful value: moreover, the examination of the immature forms involves the use of cleared and mounted specimens and a high degree of magnification.
