Excerpt from The Goodrich Family in America: A Genealogy of the Descendants of John and William Goodrich of Wethersfield, Conn., Richard Goodrich of Guilford, Conn., And William Goodridge of Watertown, Mass., Together With a Short Historical Account of the Family in England
In the preparation of this book the committee have had the valuable assistance of Henry hngoodrich (no. 1485) of Phila delphia, who has made extensive researches relating to the origin of the name\and the early' history of the family in England, also of Henry Kent Goodrich (no. 3338) of Maywood, lll., who has done a good deal of work in the same field. The essential parts of their work are contained in the Historical Introduction, which has been arranged and embodied, with his own researches, by Hon. Grant Goodrich, who has also met and assumed all the financial responsibilities of the Association, beyond the small amount received from subscriptions, and the cost of the views of Goodrich Castle and Court, which were contributed by the late Judge Aaron Goodrich of St. Paul. Thanks are also due to 15. Byron Goodrich, Syracuse, n.y., Samuel Goodrich, Massena, n.y., Charles J. Goodrich, Columbia Springs, N. Y. Elmer S. Goodrich, Stephenton, n.y., Fred. B. Goodrich, Delavan, Wis, John K. Goodrich, Waterbury, Conn. And many others, who are gratefully. Remembered.
