It is an age of revelation in awakening emotions and newly discovered capabilities, it is also an age of anxiety and moodiness. Children undergo year-to-year and stage-to-stage changes during 13-19 years. The teen-ager may be poised with adult serenity at one moment and babyish the next. Each youngster progresses through these patterned stages at one's own speed and in his own individual way, depending on his temperament. As the student grows up, he confronts a variety of situations and problems in which he needs help. The classroom teacher may not always be able to provide the needed assistance. Classroom learning sometimes get hinders or jeopardized because of non-mental factors and conditions outside the classroom. For example, the student may feel inferior because of the exclusion from play or social activities or he may feel that his peers do not accept him. The individual has to live in society, he has to resolve inner conflicts as well as to cope with outer demands. He has to adjust with others and keep his mental balance.
