Excerpt from The Latter-Day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 104: December 31, 1942Branch Union meeting of the same Branch was held Saturday, November 7th, followed by a social at which games and singing took place under the direction of Brothers R. Carter and Ira Parkes. The Relief Society Sisters served a supper and a sum was raised for the Relief Society Fund.A cottage meeting was held in the home of Brother and Sister Edgar Hancock Sunday, November 8th, 1942. Fourteen people attended. Elder William Gittins spoke on Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy, and Elder Albert R. Carter spoke of the effect that keeping the Sabbath holy would have on 'our eternal salvation. A discussion followed this meeting which was stimulating to a very high degree.Hull Hull Branch held their Harvest. Festival October 25th, 1942. The chapel was suitably decorated with fruit, vegetables and ¿owers. A large number of Saints and friends gathered for the occasion, and en joyed singing hymns of praise and thanksgiving. Branch President Robert H. Summers gave an address from a text chosen out of the Book of Ruth, Where hast thou gleaned to - day? On the following day the Relief Society Presidency met for the purpose of taking the produce to the Victoria Hospital for Sick Chil dren in Hull as a gift from the Church.
