Here was authority appointed to interpret the will, so that one should not say I am of Paul, and another I am of Apollos. Christ Himself said once to those who followed Him that if they were not one they were not His and He earnestly prayed that they might be one.
But we know that these apostles were taken by death, and we also know that they left no successors.
