Three of the portraits are by George Romney, two by Sir Thomas Lawrence, and one is said to be by Opie. Others are excellent works of Art, although the names of the painters are unknown.The writer of these brief sketches has rendered an entirely disinterested service in preparing and publishing them, and I sincerely hope that a sufficient number of copies will be sold to prevent him from incurring any serious pecuniary loss.
