The chief impetus of this new scientific movement was given by Lom broso, whose great work, l'uomo Delinquente, was published at Turin in 1876, and it is above all in Italy - although to a large extent in France and Germany also - that criminal anthmpology, as it is nsually called, has been most fruitfully pursued.
