The events at St Peter's Field, Manchester, on August the 16th 1819, in which a gathering in demand of parliamentary reform resulted in a massacre and subsequent cover up, are reflected on here by Joyce Marlow (editor of "Suffragettes: The Right To Vote For Women". A film on the subject directed by Mike Leigh is also set for release in 2018.
