The second book of this series finds the survivors of Rogar trying hard to rebuild after the last great battle in which the Evil Spirit was destroyed. Under Rondel's strong guidance, differences are being put aside and life is again starting to flourish as peace continues. The few remaining Hirar are slowly becoming part of the people of Rogar, together with the Pagou and the Vesta. Suddenly, everyone and everything is in danger as the land of Rogar itself begins to self-destruct. Nature turns on the people who are trying to live in harmony with it. Old heroes are called upon to save their world once again, this time from a threat they can't identify. New heroes emerge as uncertain alliances are made and old flames are rekindled.
