How long before a serial killer strikes again? When do burglaries occur? What is the timeline of a terrorist? How can we help solve cold cases? Can we track the movements of a criminal? Can we spot a liar? To answer these questions, we need a specialist set of tools. The Timeline Toolkit provides these tools. This book is written for academics, students, police, and true crime enthusiasts. The methods presented have been applied to real-world, true crimes and have been presented to international academic and law enforcement audiences. From profiling serial killers to understanding burglaries, a number of solved and unsolved crimes are analysed with various approaches. All of the current, top methods are included: Behaviour Sequence Analysis, Crime Script Analysis, Behaviour Tracking, Behavioural Fingerprinting, T-Pattern Analysis, and more. This book is aimed at individuals without any background knowledge or training with the methods, so it can be picked-up and used by everyone from academics to true crime enthusiasts. Analyses of various criminal investigations are included: interrogation and confession analysis, serial killers, sexual assault, stalking, burglary, and a range of others. The methods are showcased in terms of current cases, and cold cases. About the Author: Dr Keatley is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Chair of Crime Science at Murdoch University, Australia.
