Excerpt from The Tomb of Thoutmôsis IVThe Tomb of Thoutmbsis IV was discovered early in 1903 and opened on the 3rd February of the same year at the expense of Mr. Theodore M. Davis. The antiquities found in it were at once removed to the house of the Service des Antiquités at Medinet Habu. They were then carefully sorted and the broken fragments fitted together and numbered. A catalogue was then made and the whole collection packed and sent to Cairo. At the Museum a representative series of the objects found was handed over tomr. Davis for American Museums. The whole collection, however, is described in the present Catalogue: the objects numbered 46001 - 46529 are those retained by the Cairo Museum, those without numbers in the margin refer to the series presented to Mr. Davis.
